Financial Intelligence Unit Latvia hands over the responsibility for Coordination Platform to the Ministry of Finance

24.01.2023

Coordination Platform for Supervisory and Control Institutions is a successfully developed national mechanism, uniting supervisory authorities under the AML/CFT Law to shape uniform understanding, share good supervisory practises, formulate opinions and provide support in dealing with challenges of the AML/CFT landscape. Under the leadership of the FIU Latvia, the Platform has operated since November 2018.

Considering the above, FIU Latvia is pleased to hand over the responsibility to coordinate the work of the Platform to the Ministry of Finance – institution responsible for the supervision matters in the field of AML/CFT in Latvia. Necessary amendments that support this transfer of duties have been made in the legal framework. The FIU Latvia will continue to actively participate in the work of the Platform and cooperate closely with all supervisory authorities of financial and non-financial AML/CFT obliged entities.
