FIU Latvia organises actual discussion “How sanctions impact us”

The discussion “How sanctions impact us” was moderated by Paulis Iļjenkovs, Head of Strategic Analysis Division of the FIU Latvia. Representatives of several institutions involved in the matters of sanctions participated in the discussion: Acting Head of the FIU Latvia Toms Platacis, Head of the Unit of Sanctions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Sabīne Janisela, Director of the National Customs Board of the State Revenue Service Raimonds Zukuls, Finance Latvia Association advisor Laima Letiņa and Senior Supervisory Expert in the AML Department of the Bank of Latvia Marta Tilhena.

The participants shared experience of the represented institutions, as well as provided an assessment of the effectiveness of the application of sanctions, discussed challenges of implementation of sanctions and prevention of circumvention, as well as the future in the field of sanctions at the Latvian, EU  and international level.
