High-level forum “Highways and Byways of Money Laws or Towards Safe Finances in Latvia”

At the Forum representatives of public administration, policy makers, local and foreign experts, assessed the current achievements in the AML area and analysed future trends.

Following topics were analysed and discussed:

• The current situation regarding the AML in Latvia: achievements, relevant risks, and trends 
• The impact of grey and illicit money on the business environment, attraction of investments, and the competitiveness of economy 
• Shadow economy in Latvia: the current situation and trends 
• How to develop business friendly environment 
• Global trends in the AML area, what to expect

The Forum were organised as part of the annual campaign “Know the (By)Ways of Money Laws" by the FIU Latvia, in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Latvia.
