VIDEO: FICIL and FIU Latvia public discussion: What is Latvia's competitive advantage?

As part of the Foreign Investors Council in Latvia 24th High Council meeting, FICIL and the Financial Intelligence Unit of Latvia (the FIU Latvia) organised a public discussion “Value of complience: What is Latvia's competitive advantage?”
At the beginning of 2020 Prime Minister of Latvia Mr. Krišjānis Kariņš stated that the positive FATF decision shows Latvias financial sector overhaul has been successful. Now – whats next? What is the current situation in the field of AML/CTF in Latvia? Investor viewpoint – what is preventing/hindering investor activity in Latvia? What is missing to show investors that Latvia has a stable, predictable business environment, where operations are transparent? These and other questions were answered during the discussion.
The panel included Santa Purgaile (FCMC), Kaspars Rožkalns (LIAA), Ilze Znotiņa (the FIU of Latvia), Zlata Elksniņa Zaščirinska (FICIL) and Reinhold Schneider (Schwenk).
