For period of 2017 - 2019

The Financial Intelligence Unit of Latvia has developed an executive summary of National Risk Assessment for the period from 2017 to 2019. The National Risk Assessment identifies the national risks in money laundering, terrorism and proliferation financing and provides insight into the most important events in 2020 focusing on the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in money laundering. The Risk Assessment also summarizes expert opinions from over 30 public institutions and significant data analyzed by the Financial Intelligence Unit of Latvia, law enforcement authorities and other institutions involved in the prevention of money laundering and terrorism and proliferation financing. The document has a high value-added not only for the work of public institutions, but also for the private sector to ensure appropriate, risk-based internal control systems.
