Capacity building in the field of AML, including in the identification of environmental crime

 

The Financial Intelligence Unit has received support within the framework of the programme “International Police Cooperation and Combating Crime” co-financed by the European Economic Area (EEA) grant, fund for bilateral relations initiative "Capacity building in the field of AML, including in the identification of environmental crime". Agreement No. EEZ/DSF/FID/2024/1.

 

The aim of the project

To strengthen the capacity of FIU Latvia to identify and respond to cases of money laundering, including cases related to environmental crime.

 

The project is implemented by

FIU Latvia, project partner – FIU Iceland.

 

Project target audience

FIU Latvia and FIU Iceland experts and analysts. Also, representatives of law enforcement authorities, anti-money laundering staff of Latvian commercial banks, international experts, industry experts.

 

Project funding

The total project funding is EUR 140 000, which is EEA grant funding. The project will be implemented by 31 March 2025.

 

Project activities

Training, exchange visits, participation in events abroad, international conference, publicity activities.

 

Project publicity

In order to inform the target audiences and the public about the initiative, the FIU shall carry out project communication through different communication channels, reflecting EEA grant support: on the website, on social networks and in the form of other communication activities.
